Voice Interviews

What is recorded when you answer an interview, who it is sent to, and how to have it removed.

The short version

If you are answering an interview, we record your spoken answers and turn them into text so they can be read afterwards. If the interview asks for your name and company, that is attached to your answers; where it is optional you can leave it blank and answer anonymously.

There is no advertising here, nothing is sold or shared for marketing, and the page you answer on sets no cookies and carries no analytics.

What is recorded

  • Your answers, as audio. Recording starts when a question finishes playing and stops when you move on.
  • A transcript of each answer. Made from the recording, and an English translation alongside it if you answered in another language.
  • Anything you type. Some questions can be answered by typing instead of speaking.
  • Your name and company, if the interview asks. Some interviews require it, some offer it, some never ask. Where it is offered you may leave it blank. If you arrived through a link meant for you personally, the person who sent it already knew who you were.
  • The language you chose, and timings. When you started and finished, and how long each answer ran.
  • The path the interview took. Which questions were asked, which were skipped, and any follow-up the interviewer decided to ask based on what you had said.

The interviewer may be software

Some interviews are run by a person’s written questions, in order. Others are directed: as you speak, your words are read by an AI model that decides whether to follow up and what to ask next. That is why an interview can ask you something that was not on the original list.

It only ever asks questions. It makes no decision about you, and there is no scoring, ranking or profiling of you anywhere in this tool.

Who it is sent to

Your recording does not stay in one place. Four companies are involved in making an interview work, and each may only act on our instructions.

  • OpenAI Turns your recording into text, translates it where needed, and produces the voice that reads the questions aloud.
  • Anthropic Runs the AI interviewer on directed interviews, reading what you have said in order to choose the next question.
  • Vercel Hosts the site and stores the audio recordings.
  • Neon Hosts the database holding transcripts, names and everything else above.

Neither OpenAI nor Anthropic trains their models on what is sent to them through the interfaces we use. Nothing is given to anyone else, except where we are legally required to, and we would say so if we were permitted.

If you run interviews

Signing in to the admin side records who you are and keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in. Notes you write about a person before an interview, and the background you paste in to brief the interviewer, are held with that interview and are visible to anyone else with admin access.

How long it is kept, and getting it removed

Answers are kept until they are deleted. A whole response, including its recordings and transcripts, can be deleted at any time, and deleting it removes the audio as well as the text.

If you answered an interview and want your response removed, or want a copy of it, write to support@dossops.com. Tell us roughly when you answered and which interview it was, and we will confirm within two business days and finish within thirty. You do not need an account, and there is no charge.

Changes

If this changes we will change the date below. Where a change matters to people who have already answered, we will say what it was rather than rely on anyone noticing.
